Summer Games

We headed down to Cedar City this last week for the annual Utah Summer Games.  A few of Scott's players joined up with an older team  to play in the U19 Division.  Our boys are 15-16 years old and the older boys are 17, so we were a very young team in that division plus we got put in the higher flight.  We didn't win any games but they were all really close and there was even one game we should have won.  The boys played great and it was fun to watch.
When we asked the girls if they wanted to go, all three quickly answered "NO".  They didn't want to sit in the heat and watch soccer games or make the 6 hour drive.  My wonderful sister Shellece took the girls for the weekend.  She's super duper busy and I didn't want her to have to worry about Landon, so we made him come with us.  The girls were so excited and kept talking about going to her house that Landon was feeling really upset and mad about not going with them.  We really had to do some major bribing to make him feel better.
At the last minute, I decided I didn't really want to go either.  I'm huge and miserable and sitting in the car for six hours then sitting in 90 degree weather to watch soccer games didn't sound too fun.  It ended up being well worth it.

These are the boys from Scott's team that came down to play.  Three of them shared a room with Bayler in the apartments we stayed at.  I can't describe the smell that was in that room after all the boys would get done with a game and then take a nap without showering.  This is a good group of boys and it was fun spending time with them, even if they were kind of stinky.
We spent some of our free time at parks, playing in the water and driving up the canyons around Cedar City.  We purposely took a nice long drive one of the days so Landon would take a little nap.  It only took him about 5 minutes to fall asleep.
