We took everyone that could or wanted to come with us and it was a rather small group. The water was a lot lower this year so it was a lot more bumpy then previous years. I personally like to float on calm water and just relax but that was not the case this year. Drey thought that it was not bumpy enough, he loves the rapids.
Tylee was grumpy cause she got the tube with an open center and so she pouted for a while until she made Harrison share his tube.
I gotta write this story so I will always remember how it really went down. Because we adopted the girls through foster care we have the opportunity to apply for a grant that provides respite (babysitting) through the Family Place. We did that a week before this trip and got approved. They offer 15 hours of babysitting in our home that we can use through the year. They also offer 3 hrs in the Family Place nursery every Friday morning. The catch is that you have to use all your in home hours before you can use the center hours. The girl that runs the program said that in our case it would be most beneficial to use all our in home hours quickly then use in center for the rest of the year. So I schedule them to babysit at our house to watch the girls so we could go to the narrows. The catch with the in home hours is that if any child under 18 comes home while they are they, that child can't leave again until an person over 18 is present. Meaning if Avery came home while they were there she wouldn't be able to leave. Both Addason and Avery had dates that night so I carefully arranged it so that Addason would be there when Avery needed to leave. We were off once the girls got there. Totally forgetting that we wouldn't have service the majority of the time I left my number in case of an emergency. We floated down the river and as soon as we got service agin I text Avery to make sure she got on her date in time. She told me she was home with the sitters. That something scary and funny happened. It was too long of a story to tell until we got home. The kids were all safe and fine. Of course now I'm a tad concerned and cant possibly imagine what happen. We got home and nothing looked damaged and once inside everything looked normal. The girls quickly started to tell us the story. Avery's date got cancelled and so she ended up staying home but she forgot to mentioned that to the sitters. The sitters were outside playing with girls and when they came in they saw a person walking about the stairs. The freaked out cause they thought everyone had left. They kinda thought maybe it was one of our girls so they walked around the house calling out to see who was there. No one answered though which made them even more nervous cause they saw someone. Since their top priority is to keep the kids safe, they took the babies out front. Thats when they noticed Harrisons car out front, which neither had noticed before. That freaked them out more and the fact that we live across from the cemetery put them over the edge. One girls stayed outside and the other went through the house and opened most of the doors looking for someone. They tried calling me but I had no service. After not finding anyone they called their supervisor who said to call the police immediately. The police were called and were quick to arrive thinking that there was foster children in the home and possibly could have been bio family. They ran the plates on the car out front and found that the car truly didn't belong to the family living here leading them to believe someone was in the house that really shouldn't be. The had a mega phone and announced into the house that the intruder needed to come out at once. The police said that the person had 5 chances before the K9 units would be released into the house. On the fourth try Avery thought she could hear something through the incredibly loud sound coming out of her headphones so she took them out of her ears and came out of the room she was in and said "hello??" That prevented the police from releasing the dogs into the house. When she came up the stairs there were cops and she was super confused and a tad scared. They took her outside to question her and make sure she belonged in the house. She was also able to explain that the car was Tylee's boyfriend and why she didn't hear them the first time. All in all it ended way better than it could have and for the people here it was very traumatizing.
